One year ago;

August 9, 2008

Sometimes digging around the archives and reading past writings surprise me. This date exactly a year ago, I poured to keyboard and mouse the inner yearnings of my soul’s desire for a need to live life fuller, love more, be less superficial. One year later, I know I still have a long way to go, but reading Bending Time Backwards certainly made me think, again.

Ties that bind

Family is so important, and during this period, I realise how much more important it is than ever before. This is Yeye; I love him so much.

您的决心是我的启发, 您教了我从未放弃, 因此您应该继续启发我。

It finally eased into July, the first month of the second half of the year. Like gentle waves rippling on the white gleaming sand, it has become summer, where the heat makes me want to don a bikini and glide with the ocean fish, where dancing flowers beckon for me to join their curtsey.

First month of the year seems so near yet so far; like distant memories playing hide and seek. January was filled with hopes and wishes, a dream made for the year, filled with aspirations and drive. It was going to be a great year, I knew it then, and till now, I still know it will be.

I know the next half will float by and away if I dont catch hold of it and make the most. I can hear the singing of songbirds not too far away, and I can see you smiling. And you know what, my eyes, they smile with you.

Tasty Research

December 29, 2006

I found this treasure of a research blog: http://www.tastyresearch.wordpress.com

go check it out!

the roads we take and the decisions we make, the lives we live and the secrets we keep.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

composure in adversity

November 10, 2006

I need to learn to be more calm, more cool and composed in the face of adverse situations. I think culturally, we are made to be kanchiong and kiasu, and that makes us essentially inconfident and easily worried. I dont see that in the exchange students
